Advantages compared to LTS:<\/h3>\n

More flexibility. One source & meter can measure a link, whereas two LTS (Loss Test Set) instruments are needed.
\nA source is not needed to do transmission power measurements, so it can be used elsewhere.
\nThe KI7600 series power meter has a built in visible fault locator option.
\nA single source instrument can have both multimode and singlemode emitters.
\nThe source and meter should be matched so that “Autotest” works.<\/p>\n

Disadvantages compared to LTS:<\/h3>\n

Higher initial cost. One LTS may be cheaper than a source \/ meter pair.
\nMore inventory to maintain and deploy, so higher ongoing costs.
\nHigher battery cost.
\nSlightly harder to use.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Advantages compared to source and meter:<\/h3>\n

Maybe lower initial cost.
\nLess inventory to maintain and deploy, so lower ongoing costs.
\nLower battery cost.
\nSlightly simpler to use.<\/p>\n

Disadvantages compared to source and meter:<\/h3>\n

Generally can’t verify a link with just one unit, at least two are required.
\nSource (cost) must be carried during power measurements, when it’s not required.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Two Way Instrument<\/h2>\n

Advantages compared to LTS:<\/h3>\n

Much easier & faster two way (bi-directional) loss checking with minimum skill level.
\nPass \/ Fail display.
\nOption of ORL measurement for small extra cost and no extra effort.<\/p>\n

\nDisadvantages compared to LTS:<\/h3>\n

Initial Cost.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
